Desdemona, Kornineil, and Wysteria are rescued from the waves by Oskar after their ship, the H.M.S. Swiss Cheese sinks. They're brought to Jedediah Brindle's office in the town of Half Moon Bay and are informed of the missing Inspector Stevia Ponderosa.
The trio retire to their lodgings to rest and recoup where they meet an unusual fellow traveller...
