Influence Influence

Influence

Eight years after Sabine Eliot was persuaded by her family to break up with her college sweetheart, the exes are set to meet again at an A-list wedding in the French countryside. While Sabine is enjoying a flourishing career as an influencer, her heart’s never been the same since she said goodbye to sweet and sensitive Wyatt.
Meanwhile, if Wyatt had something to prove in the years since he was rejected by Sabine, boy has he proved it. He’s the most sought-after photographer in L.A., friend to the stars, and he’s never been more eligible. With a four-day wedding extravaganza ahead of her, Sabine is in for oodles of star-studded events and also lingering, weird feelings for her ex. Then Sabine meets Henrietta Louise Musgrove, current It Girl and darling of the cinema. It’s the friendship Sabine always dreamed of striking up (and using to her advantage). These two are destined to be the next “Taylena.” That is, until Henrietta Louise Musgrove has eyes for Wyatt, and wants Sabine’s help securing his heart. Jane Austen’s Persuasion for the modern era, Influence is a playful re-imagining of one woman’s climb up the social ladder, and about if true love can conquer all–even Hollywood.

Spiked Eggs Podcast- Episode "Bingo After Dark"

We meet Ellen, a loyal bingo player of St. Clementines parish in the Bronx. Ellen's game is interrupted by a call from her young assassin, Camille. After some confrontation between the two, Ellen orders Camille to dispose of a body. "No questions asked." Camille is forced to bring along an inexperienced "wise guy," Tommy G, on this late night mission to teach him "the ropes."
The scene shifts to a remote swamp somewhere between NYC and New Jersey. The assassin and the "rookie" drag a bag with the body in it through this muck filled swamp. In a scene reminiscent of The Sopranos Pine Barrens episode, the two complain and bicker about breakfast cereal, communion, and snakes. When they finally reach the dumping spot, the real cat-and mouse begins between the killer and "student."

Ron Ahmanson doesn’t remember his last vacation. His 52 weeks of unused PTO have forced management to buy him a vacation and send him on it. So, Ron finds himself taking an all-expenses-paid Caribbean cruise that he doesn’t want to be on. Even though it’s paid for, he still obsesses about money. Even though he knows he needs to “get out more,” he hates the notion of socializing with regular dinner mates. And even though the LAST thing on Earth he wants to do is work on himself, this particular “Walmart on the water” turns out to be a fully immersive program into the motivational musings of an over-amped self-empowerment guru named Ernie “Macked Up” Bigman. Things escalate when our hero begrudgingly joins a man named Earl Beefington at the Craps table, where Ron winds up rolling snake eyes every single time, a veritable impossibility. This newfound superpower earns him gobs of cash and unwanted notoriety, thus hurling him into an existential shit storm that forces him to question both his buried past and his current reality. All as he becomes Macked Up’s main target.
